POLICIES AND PROCEDURES

 

THE MATCHES

 

1.   Each team shall play against each of the other five teams in the cup in Four Ball Match play better ball of partners format without handicap.

2.  All play is pursuant to USGA rule. Any local rule deemed necessary must comply with Appendix 1 of the USGA Rules. Players should understand the rules of match play (Rule3.2, USGA Rule Book).

3.   At least six team members must be available for a match. If only six play, player number five must play singularly against the opposing 5/6 team, and player six must play again the opposing 7/8 team.

4.  If any player(s) is delayed enroute but expects to arrive in a reasonable time, she  must notify her Captain through the hosting pro shop15 minutes before the scheduled starting time. Available players may begin the match and partners only can join the match in progress at the beginning of the hole. If no forewarning is received, the Captain shall change the lineup accordingly.

5.   If the six player requirement is not met or if the team must forfeit, all points earned in matches already played by the team and its opponents shall be voided. Points in matches yet to be played shall also be voided, leaving the competition in that cup among only five teams. The TCCC Board shall decide the penalty of the offending team. That team is still responsible for that day’s expenses and required to host a play day.

6.   The team listed on the left of the score card has honors on the first hole of play.

7.  In each match, one point shall be awarded for each hole won and ½ point for a halved hole. Players should agree on points at the end of each hole.

8.   A Rules person shall be present for each match. Any claim in a match shall be brought to the respective team captains who shall then present said claim to the rules person present immediately upon completion of play and before the results have been posted on the score board. (Note: Once the result of the match has been officially announced, a later claim may not be considered by the Committee unless it is satisfied that the opponent knew she was giving wrong information.)

9.  In the case of inclement weather, at least nine holes must be completed by all participants for a match result to stand. No points will be awarded if a match is not completed.  In an incomplete match (due to weather or darkness), holes not played shall be halved except when a penalty for slow play applies.

10 Captains shall sign and confirm results sheets with the opposing Captains following the matches and submit said sheets to the Results Chairwoman.

11. The TCCC will not allow the use by any player of any device that is designed to measure any conditions (wind speed, elevation, temperature, etc.) that will affect play. Any competitor who uses such a device will be in breach of USGA rules requiring disqualification. Standard GPS systems are permitted.

 

Course Length Requirements

  Each course to be played must be at least 5,000 yards long. If necessary, a combination of tees may be used.
